Jack also fits Portland's offense better, which consists largely of "throw it in the post to Z-Bo" and be ready to hit a spot-up J if he throws it back out. Jack is good at patiently running the half-court offense and probably is not being terribly assertive offensively at the behest of his coach.

Sergio is more of a run-and-gun point guard, not a good spot-up shooter but he can drive and dish very nicely. He'd love the backup PG spot in Phoenix. But as long as Portland revolves around Randolph, he is a bench guy.

Why isn't Sean May on your list?

One of the great mysteries this year is Bickerstaff's stubborn refusal to give May consistent minutes. He's averaging around 12/7/2 in just 23 mins/gm. That's a per 40 min avg. of around 20/11/3 with nearly a block and a steal thrown in for good measure.

I might stick with bosh as well....but Bosh's FT% and some other stats are down from previous years...

Josh Smith has to be more consistent....but if you are strong at center regardless and can take the risk, Josh Smith will be rewarding while playing guard and giving you blocks etc...Last night he had horrible FT% but he probably wont do that on a nightly basis...overall on a player rater josh smith will be more valuable...

The problem I have with Jack is that he seems to disappear for long stretches. He sometimes becomes way too passive and doesn't create anything - whether he's playing alongside Roy or not. He's a solid player and he should be the starter, don't get me wrong, but I love the energy that Rodriguez provides when he's in there. His shooting is streaky but he is loaded with potential.

MIKE: no way I trade Bosh for Smith. Bosh is C-eligible, he's consistent, and contributes in multiple categories (you have to love his percentages). Smith will give you crazy stats one night and do very little except kill you with TOs and horrible FT% the next. I'd keep Bosh for sure.

I think you're being a little hard on Jack.

Jack is a better leader, defender, and more complete player right now. Rodriguez's numbers are also probably inflated a bit from playing in garbage time. In the 3 games without Jack, only 1 of them were anything special - and that was an unrealistic 11-14 shooting night.

The kid can pass, but we've yet to really see what else he can do. He has shown sparks here and there, but he needs to start stepping up in other areas.

I do concur it is time to give Dickau's minutes to Sergio, but with both Jack and Roy healthy, there isn't a ton of PT available at guard.

Off topic question, but if you were me, would you trade Chris Bosh for Josh Smith?

I know its hard to say without a detailed look at my team and standings, but any views on Smith's value as compared to Bosh?
