Wrap-Up

OK, so we’ve got one night left here in the fantasy basketball season and, just like last year, it’s a total crapshoot as to how well your team is going to do tonight.  For the last week or so it’s been pretty much impossible to guess who’s going to have value or who’s going to play from night to night.  At this point pretty much everyone’s first-round pick has been compromised (except for me - thanks Elton Brand!!)  and I’m going to be very curious to see how the NBA deals with this tanking thing in the offseason.  I mean, if they don’t change anything, it really will hurt the value of guys like Joe Johnson and Mike Miller, good players on bad teams, who can’t be countred on for the final few weeks of the season.

Anyhow, this is it for us here at FBB this year.  We’ll probably be back around the NBA Draft and be making various comments as big free-agents move around, and we’ll get started again for real in September with lots of babbling in our extensive season preview.  As always, big thanks to our commenters who keep this blog interesting and if there are any suggestions as to how we can improve next year, we’re happy to listen.  Thanks for reading…

I showed great wisdom picking Elton Brand at eight. That’s paying off for the John Basedow Fantasy Club big time, right about now.

Good job this year and thanks the excellent info. I implemented your plan of “only draft great pg’s and great big people” in the first half of the draft, and it worked!! I’m currently fighting of the Championship in both of my leagues, and much of it is due to your ideas expressed last September. It all comes down to tonight, but it has been a blast! Thanks!!

[…] And Fantasy Basketblog is off to their summer break. Of course, with the brilliant work they do, they deserve it. This blog runs year round to make up for lack of quality with strength in quantity. I haven’t seen 300, but I’d imagine if I had, I could make a good metaphor at this point. If you’ve seen it, feel free to imagine one riiiiiiight… now. […]

FBB Dudes,

Thanks for your insight this season. After being down all week in my championship game, I ended up tied 4-4. However, the tie break is head to head during the regular season. One more rebound or 3 more points and I would have been champ! Looking forward to watching the playoffs without worry about how my players a doing.

Thanks for your insights this basketball season. You guys helped me out big as I won 2/4 leagues this year, both H2H. It certainly helped I had Elton Brand (Kevin Martin and Al Jefferson also as late late round picks) in both leagues =D I also have to say I picked up LaMarcus Aldridge right around the time he was being written about here… he was certainly worth it for the month or so he was on-fire.

I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH and your articles are great fun to read!

you guys were awesome with the fantasy articles! they were informative AND a great read at work

helped me win two of my leagues even after my teams were decimated with injuries: on at least one of my teams, i had yao, wade, boozer, joe johnson, arenas, zach randolph, al jefferson… and seemingly every guy i picked up (kapono, luke ridnour, earl watson, lemarc aldridge) got injured right after i picked them up!

i guess two article types that i would appreciate would deal with keepers and sleepers. i missed that this year. great work all around

Thanks for the year of great, entertaining writing and sage advice on topics big and small.

Depending on whether you all decide to run with the same format in the lead-up to next season, I wonder if you’ll be moving the schedule up a bit? I consider your draft prep articles to be essential, but I think most leagues drafted before you put your rankings up. Of course, I think we’re all happy with whatever you guys decide to post.

Thanks again, and sorry about the Wizards.

Thanks again for another great year!

Best of luck in the Oden/Durant sweepstakes (or the playoffs) depending on where everybody’s favorite/hometown team finds themselves…

I did love this blog. I have no idea how I will be able to survive at work without checking this site 6 times a day for new comments or my fantasy site.

Thanks guys, also as far as I’m concerned H2H is the best system. I just looked at my league I finished 2nd regular season and ended up losing in the semi’s to take 3rd, but on a straight roto stats I easily won the enitre league.

Just a weird stat for everyone - In my semi matchup (we play 11 cats) I won 3’s, points, assts, boards, steals and lost. Lost FTM, FG%, FT%, Blocks, TO, and Tech. My team was pretty good on FT% all year to, but Duncan, Amare and Iverson combind for about a 35/72 clip that week.

Great work all season though, really enjoyed this blog

Thanks to you, I won my 1st championship in my “rookie” year of playing FBB with a 8-1 H2H decision. Rock on!
