Tim,

Don't forget to always scout the waiver wire. If Brevin Knight is available, he may be someone to look at simply adding as well.

Tim,

I agree that you could use a second real PG. Someone like Miller would be good because he is always undervalued due to being boring and consistent. Look at his numbers for the past three years and you'll see what I mean. The only problem is that he won't provide you 3's, so you need to get them from an unconventional spot, such as you have with Harrington currently.

I'm not sure what I could offer in terms of a straight 1-for-1 trade, and it helps to know rosters in trying to make-up a 2-for-2 trade. You could also try and target a struggling player like Mo Williams hoping that they recover (or in a few weeks make a play for Mike Bibby).

Anyways, I will actually be making my first column about early-season trades, so keep an eye out for it. Hope it helps!

I need help

team 9 cat roto - 12 team

pg: kidd
sg: redd
g: j. Johnson
sf: Richardson
F: Darko
pf; harrington
C: Ming
C: Kaman
Util: Webster
Util: Diop

bench: Murphy, Acie Law, B. Miller, and Artest

WHo should I start once Artest is back - I think maybe put Artest in place of Webster - but that may overload me on blocks and rebounds and I think I need assists and steals...

I think I can move Darko and someone for a true second point... any thoughts - I think maybe the one I should be targetiung is andre miller... but I do not know what might be a good package.

Let me know

Thanks (love the site)

yeah, i think Jeremy hits on the main issue of Haywood really not having too much competition for playing time. it's all about minutes, y'know? Drew Gooden is proving that in Cleveland, these guys that you think would be fine if they could just stay on the court, and then lo and behold they get the chance and it happens. Haywood has been looking for this opportunity his whole career and it's not all that surprising that he's come out of the gate playing so wel. that said, he's still Brendan Haywood. at his best he makes for a solid #2 center in deep leagues. at his BEST. i simply don't see him being this year's Andris Biedrins.

The one issue in this matchup is the Blazers will have more warm bodies to play at the big-man positions, and for this reason alone Haywood might get more minutes, and thus perhaps be more consistent in a fantasy sense. Who does Washington play at center other than Haywood? I like Blatche, but Jamison and Songalia are too small.

Blazers have Aldridge, Frye, Pryzbilla, LaFrentz, McRoberts and Outlaw, all of which (except Outlaw) who can play the center position.

Haywood also has a better history of avoiding injury, so he's probably who I'd be leaning towards right now if you had the options, and it sucks that you don't.

i think, honestly, those two will be a total wash. both of them will be totally inconsistent. right now, though, haywood is obviously the guy with more value. who knows how long it'll last tho?

Haywood's success has been annoying me.
I drafted him in the last round, but dropped him before his first game to pick up Przybilla.

Haywood's first game caught my attention. After his 2nd game I was thinking maybe I should pick him back up, but someone beat me toit.

So who do you think will have a better year Przybilla vs Haywood???

I think eventually (once Portland's rotation settles down) Przybilla should be fine - i.e. 8 pts, 10 rebs, 2 blks.

As for Haywood, it'll be interesting to see if he can keep it up, or whether he'll eventually revert to inconsistency.
