Good news for all of you Mike Dunleavy Jr. owners out there. No, he isn’t quite ready to play yet but he is practicing more. Out with bone spurs in his right knee, Dunleavy Jr. is is getting closer and closer to making his ’09 season debut. He has gone from 10 minutes of practice time to 20 minutes with the minutes being broken up in intervals. He has also began taking part in full court scrimmages.
“What we did is we played five on five in the halfcourt, transitioned one time and then stopped,” O’Brien said. “Not because I was told to do that. It’s what I wanted to do.”
This is obviously great news for all of you that have held onto Dunleavy Jr. in hopes of him returning sooner rather than later. This is however, not so good news for Marquis Daniels owners. I’m sure that when Dunleavy Jr. is ready to return to the court he will be limited, but does that mean that Daniels goes to the bench? It is hard to tell with the way Daniels has played all season. This will definitely be something to keep an eye on.
