Fantasy Q & A

080310-dwayne-wade-vmed-2pwidecDo you think that D-Wade will sign an extension with the Heat or will he test the free-agent market?

Darius- Pensacola, FL

If the money is a competitive offer then I think Dwayne Wade will resign with the Miami Heat. To be honest, I think most players will be forced to resign with their original teams due to salary cap restrictions in the immediate future. LeBron James might be the exception to this due to the fact that every team out there should be willing to pay the luxury tax that would come with signing him.

Did you see Anthony Randolph’s performance in the NBA summer League? Don’t you think he will be a stud this year?

Jerry- San Lorenzo, CA

Yes, Anthony Randolph has a bright future ahead of him. You’ve seen where I’ve written about his potential and how he could be the next Lamar Odom. Now it looks as if he is ready to show it. Granted this is just the Summer League, but he still is playing like a man amongst boys. He’s showcasing his plethora of skills including scoring (42 points in his last game), rebounding (8.5 rebounds per game) and defense (2.25 steals and 3 blocks per game). Draft him with confidence this year.

Do you think that Shaq will increase the Cav’s chances at winning a Championship?

Harold- Marion, OH

Yes, of course. I don’t think he’ll have the same statistical year as he did this past season with the Phoenix Suns but he will definitely make them better come playoff time. Zydrunas Ilgauskas along with freshly resigned Anderson Varejao will be able to spell him at times which should guarantee (barring injury) a fresh Shaq for the playoffs. The addition of Anthony Parker should also help there chances a lot. Parker showed that he can play SG and PG last year which will make him probably one of the most important 6th men on any team. Don’t be surprised if he wins the 6th Man of the Year award this coming season.

Are my Suns going to trade Amare or will they commit to him and build around him for the future?

Brent- Phoenix, AZ

The Suns should and will probably sign Amare Stoudemire to a long term contract just because any team that tries to trade for him would probably want a long term commitment from him as well. Amare wants to test the free-agent waters and the New York Knicks are probably the only team that he will sign a long term contract with. Now, with Knick eyeballs firmly glued to LeBron, the chances of that happening are slim to none.
