Here is a quick little update on what is going on in the world of the NBA. It involves information dealing with injuries, playing time, contract issues and much more.
Jason Kidd has said that he would be open to coming off the bench in order to help with the development of Roddy Beaubois next year. This is highly unlikely. Kidd did have a pretty solid season last year but he did slow down toward the end of the season. Most likely he will still be the starter but his minutes might be cut to give Beaubois some more PT.
John Wall is the only player that the Wizards have scheduled so far for a workout. The Wizards have the first pick in the upcoming draft and everyone believes that they will take Wall, but what does that mean for Gilbert Arenas? More on that later.
Charlie Villanueva has decided to stay in Detroit this off season to work with head trainer Kevin Rand. He was disappointed with his first season as a Piston due to it being riddled with injuries. Hopefully he can right the ship and stay healthy for next season.

The Golden State Warriors should seriously be looking into signing Jason Kidd this off-season. He would be the perfect fit for the Warriors. He could step right in and become the floor general that the Warriors have lacked since losing Baron Davis to free agency. Kidd grew up in Alameda which is a short drive from Oakland. He went o high school (St. Joe’s) and college (Cal Berkeley) in the Bay Area. He is exactly what the Warriors need.
I know that the West is ridiculously tough to make the playoffs but Kidd would instantly make them playoff contenders. If they could use the #7 pick in the draft this year on a PG of the future, the Warriors could groom him behind Kidd and not have to worry about putting any added pressure on him. Now is the time to really dig deep and assess your fantasy roster. If you have an overwhelming lead in some categories, you might want to make a trade to bolster other categories that you might have a chance at moving up in. I like to take a look at my teams and evaluate what my strengths are and then search through the remaining teams and see who needs what I have.
Now you might not get fair value in return here because it is so late in the season and people are scared to give up big name players. You shouldn’t be thinking that way at all. Don’t be afraid to give up a Jason Kidd if you are dominating assists but need points. Or, don’t worry about losing Dwight Howard’s rebounds or blocks if you have a commanding lead in those categories. Remember, it’s not about who wins you the championship, but that you actually win it. Read the rest of this entry »
