Well, it has been a pretty rough off-season for NBA fans with the lockout and everything else that has gone on.  I’m not going to talk about that since it has been beaten to death.  What I will talk about is how the NBA is back!!!  Fantasy leagues are popping up like crazy and a lot of you have done little to no research at all since a lot of you were of the out of site out of mind way of thinking.  This will be a particularly hard time to do research for fantasy basketball what with fantasy football playoffs right around the corner.  We are used to having our teams set already while we focus on fantasy football playoffs but that isn’t the case this year.  It is now time to officially go into full crash course mode before the days of fantasy basketball drafts begin.

Here is a look at the Fantasy Basketball Rankings: End of Year 2010.  These are the rankings for players at the end of the season after all of the games are played.  This does not include playoff performances.  This is strictly how they finished the season and not how they will be ranked at the beginning of next year.  It will however give you an option to look at when trying to decide if a certain player is worth taking in your draft next year at the current level your league has him ranked. Here is a list of the top 100 NBA players in terms of fantasy basketball.  I’ve asked two colleagues of mine to rank them along with me.  Hopefully this can be of some help to you.  Now, as the season nears, the rankings will most likely change so keep checking back for more updates.  BC= Brandon Craver, SH= Steve Hampton and TJ= Terrance Jackson.

Everyone knows that Kevin Durant is a star in the making but does anyone outside of Oklahoma really know how good this guy is? All you have to do is take a look at his numbers and combine them with the fact that he has only two years in the pros and it is easy to see that this kid is destined for greatness. This year he averaged 25.3 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.1 3pt at 42.2%, 1.3 spg and shot 47.6% from the field. Those are numbers anyone can use on their squad and next year you better not wait too long to draft him.


He improved on every single category except FT% and bpg but the drop was minimal in both of those categories. Durant is pushing for a first round draft choice next year and if I have a late first round or early second round choice I will not pass him up. Plus his Guard/Forward eligibility is a huge plus. The ceiling is unbelievably high for this kid and he should make a steady rise to the top very quick.
